A public service announcement is an awareness campaign or an important message to inform or educate people about. They want to raise awareness about a subject that is really important and that the public should hear about it. Once example are the ones about suicide on the news and people killing themselves for really dumb reasons. It’s so sad to see a kid killing himself because of bullying! Another example are the smoking commercials on T.V. and what smoking can do to you. It can give you lung cancer and lots more, that’s why they make the commercials so disgusting to persuade you not to smoke.
